While working on this piece, I first tried to recreate the look of an animal skull without any refrences, so it would be visually recognizable but undistinguishable species, referring to the main idea of the movie. When it was done, lower part was intentionally broken to create a visual effect of ruin, deterioration. 

At the same time, moss is added like a symbol of life and contrast to death. Connecting with the colour to the 3D typography that gives the poster its organic look.

Second version features different colorsheme as well as letter "A" "G" "C" "T" which state for the 4 main nucleotides which form the DNA molecule (movie main concept refrence).
